No Tax Returns Required

New York funding with no tax returns required

Plenty of owners cannot lay hands on last year's return on short notice, or file late, or have a return that does not reflect today's business. We start from your bank statements instead.

What we ask for instead

We do not require tax returns. We ask for about three months of business bank statements, which show deposits, withdrawals and balances over a recent period. Because they are recent and unfiltered, statements describe the business as it operates now rather than as it looked at the end of a filing year.

Why a return can be a poor fit for fast funding

It looks backward

A return covers a year that ended months ago. A business that has grown, shrunk or changed course since then is poorly described by it.

It may not be filed yet

Extensions, late filings and amended returns are common among owners who spent the year running the business instead of managing paperwork.

It is not always on hand

If an accountant holds the file, getting it can add days to a process that is trying to take hours.

What a statement reveals

What the funder seesWhat it suggests
Regular depositsCustomers are paying on a pattern
Average balancesHow much cushion the business keeps
Recurring withdrawalsFixed costs and existing obligations
Overdrafts or returned itemsMoments of stress that may need explaining

Getting your statements ready

  1. Download the PDFs from your bank for the last three full months, plus the current month if available.
  2. Check every page is present. A statement that ends mid-month has to be redone.
  3. Use the business account. If household and business money mix, it is harder to read your revenue.
  4. Note unusual items. A large one-time transfer or refund is easier to understand with a short note.

Common questions owners ask first

Will a funder judge me for not sending a return?

No. It is a different kind of review, not a lesser one. Statements are what we ask for.

What if my deposits come from several sources?

That is normal. Card processors, transfers, checks and cash deposits all appear on a statement, and a funder reading them is looking for a repeating pattern.

What if I have more than one business account?

Send statements for the account that carries most of your operating activity, and mention the others on your application if they are relevant. A clear explanation saves a round of questions.

The rest of the picture

We fund $25,000 to $5,000,000, in as little as 24 hours. We consider FICO 500 and above, and the application takes about five minutes and uses a soft credit pull. Sole proprietors can apply. You should still keep your returns in order for your own purposes and for any other lender or agency that asks for them. Not being required to hand them over for this application does not change your tax obligations.
