A low personal score and a busy Bronx business can both be true at once. We consider FICO 500 and up and look at what comes through your business account.
Apply Now →The Bronx is its own county, Bronx County, and its business base is neighborhood retail, restaurants, distribution and the trades. Many owners started with personal savings, a family loan and a personal credit card, which means the owner's credit file carries the business's early history. One slow winter on a maxed card and the score drops, even though the business kept its doors open and its staff paid.
A conventional bank lender sees the score first. We start from a different place: we consider FICO 500 and above, and then read about three months of business bank statements.
Each of these is a timing problem. The sales exist; the cash arrives after the bills do.
Say a Bronx contractor wins a $90,000 job. Materials cost $30,000 and are due at order. The client pays in stages, and the first payment is 30 days out. Crew payroll runs every week in between.
That is a bridge of a month or more where the contractor is spending money the job has not yet returned. A working-capital advance sized to cover materials and the first payrolls lets the job start on time. These numbers are illustrative; they are not our terms, rates or typical outcomes. Our actual range is $25,000 to $5,000,000.

Bronx owners who move quickly through the process usually have the same few things ready. Statements are complete and cover the same account the deposits land in. The business name on the account matches the application. Any large one-time deposit, such as a personal transfer or a refund, is easy to explain. None of this changes whether a score of 500 or higher is considered; it only keeps the review from stalling on questions.
Existing obligations should be disclosed plainly. Taking on a new payment on top of an old one only helps if the business can carry both, and a clear picture on both sides avoids a bad fit.
That sits below what we consider. In that case it is usually better to spend a few months building the account history first: deposit all revenue into one business account, keep it above zero, and avoid overdrafts. Statements that look steadier in six months can change the picture more than a score moving a few points.
A 540 is above our 500 FICO floor, so it is considered. The review also weighs about three months of business bank statements.
No. Sole proprietors can apply.
No. Tax returns are not required.
The credit pull is soft, so it does not add a hard inquiry.
